The S+BEST library only works with S-PLUS for Windows 6.0 or later (6.0,
6.1 or 6.2). This is noted on the Research Libraries web page
(http://www.insightful.com/downloads/libraries/default.asp) but the note
can easily be overlooked. I will update the web page to make it obvious
which version of S-PLUS is required for each of the libraries.
