Thanks! I edited the LIBRARY_FLAGS file in $(SHOME)/cmd
and changed cc to gcc --- and bingo, it ran.
I'm still a bit puzzled, but. Why does the damned
thing need a C compiler at all? There is no c code
in my library section.
(That's only of academic interest, of course. It's
working.)
