two-day workshop "Global Optimization" by Dr. János Pintér,
Amsterdam, September 9-10.
Dr. Pintér is a researcher and practitioner with three decades
of experience. His main area of interest are advanced nonlinear
systems modeling and optimization, including algorithm and
software development. Dr. Pintér authored several books and
about 150 scientific publications and technical reports. He is
the principal developer or co-developer (in historical order)
of the LGO, Excel /LGO, GAMS /LGO, MathOptimizer, MathOptimizer
Professional, TOMLAB /LGO, CIAO-GO, and Maple Global
Optimization Toolbox software products. More information on the

The Workshop will review the key Global Optimization (GO) model
types, and the most promising exact and heuristic solution
approaches. This will be followed by the introduction of
several professional software implementations, for (C and
Fortran) compiler platforms, spreadsheets (Excel PSP solvers),
optimization modeling languages (GAMS solvers), and integrated
scientific-technical computing systems (Maple, Mathematica, and
Matlab). All reviewed software by solving interesting GO
challenges and will also discuss advanced applications and case
studies.
The workshop will take place in the atmospheric Park Hotel in
the Center of Amsterdam (15 min.'s of the Airport) on
September 9th and 10th from 10.00-17.00 hours. For hotel
