I'm pretty sure I saw this problem mentioned a while ago, and Insightful
support had a fix for it.
FWIW, on my Windows 2000 machine, S-PLUS 6.1 also does this, but S-PLUS
6.2 works correctly.

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS03-045, which may be related.
I am having this problem on S-Plus 2000 SR3, Windows XP SP2. My guess is
that SP2 caused this problem on my machine.
