The exact figure is 10.473 years, as calculated with new function in S-PLUS
7 :-

function(software = "SAS", honesty = T, unbiased = T)
NULL

Sorry ... couldn't resist ...

This is based on a scientific formal analysis: I used SAS for 22 years
and have used S-Plus/R for 14 years, looked at the quality of analyses
done by SAS users, S-Plus/R users, and myself, looked at the gap between
methods in the stat literature and software, and come up with the 10
year figure in my head. :-)
