Dear Splusers,

I have been running into memory allocation problems in Splus for sometime
and on variouos platforms. Now, I am using Splus 6.0 for Windows and,
reading a large data set, I get the "unable to obtain requested dynamic
memory" error although I can see that only a fraction of the total
available memory is being used when the error is generated. The memory and
object.size options() are set to adequate limits. Is there some memory
limit that I don't know about? Perhaps the limit is set in XP?

I would be grateful for a fix that would allow the available system memory
to be utilized by Splus and would not require the usual brute force
approaches of chopping large data sets in chunks, etc.

Sincerely,

Sasha
