Time Series question

Dear All 

I have a time series object created
with rts() - in the form of daily means for environmental data and am having
trouble getting it to plot x-axis labels correctly.

Can I give it a start date eg, start=c(2005,5)
and a deltat setting for it to recognise DAILY sequences and label the
x-axis properly (or should I use a fudge).

Am using S+ ver 7 on Win XP.
