Dear S-PLUS User,

It is our great pleasure and honor to announce a course by Bill
Venables "Traditional and Modern Approaches to Statistical
Modelling with S-PLUS: An Advanced Course".

Bill Venables is a familiar contributor to the S-news mailing
list and well known for his insights into the workings of the
S language. Bill worked for the University of Adelaide for
many years before joining CMIS, the Mathematics and Information
Science Division of CSIRO, Australia's premier scientific and
industrial research organization in 1999.

Dr Bill Venables is joint author with Professor Brian Ripley of
the popular text and reference book "Modern Applied Statistics
with S-PLUS" and "S Programming".

This three-day course will present classical and modern
approaches to statistical modelling using the facilities
provided by S-PLUS. The course will present S-PLUS as a
complete data analysis and graphics environment and will use
both the standard software and the S programming language to
offer strategies for handling both standard and non-standard
statistical modelling problems.

The course will be provided in Zurich and Paris. More information
is avaible at:
