Text editor

I have been unable to use something other than notepad for the text
editor.  I changed options for editor but not pager to winedt.exe.
However, I either need a way to set the start-in path for winedt to
something like:
        paste(database.object(1, meta = 0), file, sep = "\\", collapse =
"")
Or be able to send a macro in the the command to edit in winedt as
somelike like:
        WinEdt.exe [|SetFolder( "paste(database.object(1, meta = 0),
file, sep = '\\', collapse = '')");|].
Does anyone have any guidance here?
