Andy,
Select the child window that you wish to modify,
select the Options menu, then click on the
'Save Window Size/Properties as Default' item.
The catch with the Object Explorer is the if you have
a folder in the OE left pane selected this menu item
will be 'Save Folder as Default'. If you have anything
in the OE right pane selected the menu item will
change to 'Save Selected Object as Default'.
You must ensure that nothing within the OE window
is selected, then the last item in the Options menu
changes to the one you are expecting, i.e.,
'Save Window Size/Properties as Default'.
This is achieved by clicking on any white space
in the OE left pane so that the right pane goes blank.
