I would like to respond to Roger Bos' post and offer a simple
clarification. 
 
Insightful does not require customers who own Enterprise Developer with
current maintenance to request the software update to the latest
release. Every US Enterprise Developer customer with current maintenance
was shipped 8.0 within 10 business days of release. The European process
has taken longer as shipments have been staggered across our various
offices in the region. 
 
We are, however, asking people with Professional Developer on current
maintenance to upgrade for free to the Enterprise Developer version.  We
are waiving the software upgrade fee so people can get access to
technology such as the packaging system (which provides greater
compatibility between R and S-PLUS), the debugger and profiler. 
 
As the Director of Marketing Communications, I apologize for any
confusion about the difference between our update process and the
upgrade program.  I hope to clear up any remaining questions in order to
ensure that those who wish to take advantage of the free upgrade are not
discouraged from doing so through a misunderstanding of our program.
