The Meta folder of the database is where S+ stores information about GUI objects, and similar things. You usually do not have to do anything with this folder and you should not try.

 

Not sure why it is getting attached. You could try attach(‘c:/database1/.Data’, where = 3) and see if that works. (S+ 6.2 had a where argument for attach – it is now pos=3)
