How to add text component to graph

I am running a series of analytical steps which produce a block of plots for quick inclusion into a document from the script layout.  I would like to add text to the plot such that I have a description and result.  For instance,

 

Intercept = 0.53

 

I have used the text command with the variable containing the value of the intercept but can’t seem to figure out how to put “Intercept =” just before it.  Has anyone encountered this issue?
