Thread-topic: [S] how to reset dialog boxes?
Thanks to all who responded. My .Prefs directory had become corrupted.
Deleting it and re-starting S-Plus forced .Prefs to be recreated. This
solved the problem. DB

Hi Doug. I suspect that your .Prefs directory has gotten corrupted. You
can rename the .Prefs directory, using Windows tools, to something like
.Prefs.old (or Prefs.old if Windows won't let you name a file
(directory) starting with . (dot)). Then restart S-PLUS and a clean
.Prefs directory will get created.

You can find your .Prefs directory at the same level as your .Data
directory. Use the getwd() directory from the S-PLUS command line to
see where the .Data and .Prefs are located.

Cheers,
 Stephen
