Thanks Chuck,
I will pass the info to my system adminstrator.

Sebastien,
Before starting S-PLUS, set the environment variable "S_CLEDITOR" to
"emacs". If you are using csh or tcsh, the command is
setenv S_CLEDITOR emacs
If that doesn't make sense to you, ask your local systems administrator.
Then, when you start up S-PLUS, use the "-e" flag,
Splus -e
Depending on how S-PLUS was installed locally, the command may be
something other than "Splus".
That should do it.

Subject: [S] History of commands
Hi,
I have some issues with splus 7 for solaris system (Version 7.0.6 for
Sun SPARC, SunOS 5.8, 32-bit : 2005). When I run splus in a terminal, I
cannot use the arrow keys to recall some previous executed commands or
correct the current command being written. This is what I have when I
type left, right, up, down
>^[[D^[[C^[[A^[[B
How can I "activate" these keys, if it is possible?
Thanks
