Feng Gao, Research Assistant Professor, joined the Division in March, 2003. Dr. Gao received an M.D. in Preventive Medicine in 1990 and a M.P.H. in Medical Statistics in 1996 from Beijing Medical University (China). From 1990 to 1998, he was a Teaching Assistant and then an Assistant Professor in the Division of Medical Statistics, The First Medical School of Beijing Medical University. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Biostatistics at Emory University (Atlanta) in 2002.

Dr. Gao’s research interest focuses on Classification and Regression Tree (CART) techniques, especially in the analysis of longitudinal data and clustered survival data. He is also interested in methodological issues and sample size requirements in clinical trials. He is currently providing statistical support for the projects of the Siteman Cancer Center. His responsibilities include consultation, data analysis and manuscript preparation. He is also a co-investigator of two major multicenter clinical trials -- Halt Progression of Polycystic Kidney Disease (HALT-PKD) and The Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS).
