CURTIS PARVIN
Dr. Curtis A. Parvin is a Clinical Research Associate Professor of Pathology and Immunology with a joint appointment in the Division of Biostatistics. He earned his Ph.D. in Biostatistics and Health Information Systems from the University of Minnesota in 1980. He joined the Division of Laboratory Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in 1980. He received a joint appointment in the Division of Biostatistics in 1982. Dr. Parvin's general research interests focus on the role of statistics and medical informatics in the analysis of experimental and clinical laboratory data. His recent research activity has concentrated on the statistical aspects of laboratory quality control. Dr. Parvin has defined a new set of outcome measures that more accurately reflect the performance of quality control strategies in the modern clinical laboratory. Using these outcome measures to evaluate alternative quality control strategies is providing new insight into the key factors that influence the quality control process. |
