Karen Steger-May is a Senior Statistical Data Analyst. She received her Master's Degree in Educational Measurement and Statistics from the University of Iowa in 1997 and her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri in 1994. She joined the Division in 1998.

Karen has served as a data manager and statistical data analyst for a variety of exciting projects, including the Claude D. Pepper Study of Independence in Older Americans, Altering Dietary Patterns in Preschool Children, the Collaborative Longitudinal Evaluation of Keratoconus Study, Rehabilitation Intensification Post Hip Fracture, and Caloric Restriction and Aging in Humans. Karen also provides statistical consulting for the medical school community.

Ms. Steger-May specializes in data collection, management, quality control and data analysis. She has considerable experience with all phases of data management, including the design of data collection forms and the maintenance of user-friendly databases. In addition, she has developed data entry systems using SAS/FSP for several projects. Karen is currently the coordinator for the Statistical Data Analyst Continuing Education Seminar Series.
