The GENOA Network (Genetic Epidemiology Network of Arteriopathy) has completed sampling and extensive genetic typing on more than 5,000 individuals from Jackson MS, Starr County TX and Rochester MN. Many of the participants were evaluated to measure changes in their health over time and to perform a more extensive study of the hearts of the subjects, most of whom have high blood pressure. The GENOA Network published the first ever genome-wide scan for genes influencing blood pressure.
