Introduction to the S-news-advisory mailing list

s-news-advisory is the mailing list for discussion of issues concerning the management of the s-news mailing list (s-news@wubios.wustl.edu). s-news-advisory-digest is the same list distributed in daily digest format. Issues concerning list policy and problems with the list distribution software that are of general concern may be sent to s-news-advisory. As much as possible, consensus on any issue will be obtained through discussion on s-news-advisory and then, where appropriate, communicated to s-news. Any s-news reader may subscribe and post to s-news-advisory.

Subscribe/unsubscribe and other list processor commands should be sent to s-news-request@wubios.wustl.edu, and communications regarding individual subscriptions that require human attention should be sent to s-news-owner@wubios.wustl.edu. TO SUBSCRIBE/UNSUBSCRIBE:

All list processor commands should be sent to s-news-request@wubios.wustl.edu. The commands should appear in the body of the message. To subscribe in immediate delivery format:
subscribe s-news-advisory
subscribe s-news-advisory myname@my.address

To subscribe in daily digest format:

subscribe s-news-advisory-digest
subscribe s-news-advisory-digest myname@my.address

The second form is used if the subscription address is different than the one appearing in the "From:" line of your message. You will receive a confirmation notice that you must respond to, to prevent fraudulent subscriptions (those not desired by the person being subscribed). To unsubscribe, use one of the following forms, sent to the same address, and referring to the appropriate list:

unsubscribe s-news-advisory
unsubscribe s-news-advisory myname@my.address
unsubscribe s-news-advisory-digest
unsubscribe s-news-advisory-digest myname@my.address

Messages that require human intervention should be sent to

s-news-owner@wubios.wustl.edu
but please make use of the automatic list processor commands whenever they cover the situation.
