A damaging storm had occurred on the mainland and was reportedly coming our way. Barry dropped anchor with lots of chain to hold the ship fast. We struck the sails and the crew had the awnings up just in time for the storm to hit. Fortunately, there was rain but very little wind, and the rain ended before too long.
